Join Summit County’s Town Clean Up Day

Spring is here, and it's time to give back to the beautiful mountain towns we call home. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, communities across Summit County, including Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, and Blue River—are coming together for the annual Town Clean Up Day. This cherished event is a chance for locals and visitors alike to help prepare our towns for the summer season by cleaning up streets, parks, trails, and open spaces.

Countywide Clean-Up Details

Each town has its own check-in location and schedule:

  • Breckenridge: Check-in at 9:00 AM on the Riverwalk Center Lawn (150 W Adams Ave). After the clean-up, return between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM for a free lunch, live music, and door prizes. Bringing a reusable mug or water bottle earns you an extra giveaway ticket.
  • Frisco: Meet at 9:00 AM in front of the Frisco Historic Park (120 E Main St). Clean-up runs until 11:30 AM, followed by a volunteer appreciation lunch and door prize giveaways until 1:00 PM.
  • Dillon: Gather at 9:00 AM at Dillon Town Hall (275 Lake Dillon Dr). Clean-up concludes at 12:00 PM.
  • Silverthorne: Check-in at 10:00 AM at Rainbow Park (590 Rainbow Dr). The event wraps up at 12:00 PM.
  • Blue River: Meet at Blue River Town Hall at 9:00 AM. Clean-up activities will be organized from there.

Highlights in Breckenridge

Breckenridge offers a particularly festive atmosphere for Clean Up Day:

  • Breakfast & Check-In: Start your day with breakfast at 9:00 AM on the Riverwalk Center Lawn.(townofbreckenridge.com)
  • Clean-Up Efforts: Teams will disperse to various locations to collect litter and beautify the town.

Additional Sustainability Efforts

In conjunction with Clean Up Day, the High Country Conservation Center is hosting the Annual Hard to Recycle Event:

  • Location: Summit Stage Bus Barn (0222 County Shops Rd, Frisco).
  • Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
  • Accepted Items: Bring items like electronics, household hazardous waste, gently used clothing, and more for proper disposal.

  • Dress Appropriately: Wear clothes suitable for outdoor work and sturdy footwear.
  • Bring Reusables: A reusable mug or water bottle is encouraged and may earn you extra perks.
  • Transportation: Consider walking, biking, or using public transit to reduce your carbon footprint.
