Local Coffee Shops That Are Worth the Drive (or the Detour!)
Summit County Coffee Guide – August 2025
Whether you're on the way to a trailhead, gearing up for a long day of showings, or just craving a slow morning with a good latte, Summit County has no shortage of great coffee. Here are some of my favorite local spots to support some are newer, some are off the beaten path, and all are worth the stop.
1. Danielle’s Delights – Breckenridge
Tucked into a bright, cheerful coffee cart in the Breckenridge Distillery parking lot, Danielle’s Delights is my favorite newer spot. It’s small but mighty, with excellent espresso, creative seasonal drinks, and some of the friendliest service in town. Stop here before a drive over Boreas or Hoosier Pass, you won’t regret it.
2. Cool River Coffee House – Breckenridge
A longtime favorite just off Main Street, Cool River is part café, part local hangout. Grab a breakfast burrito and a spicy chai and enjoy the patio along the river. It’s a peaceful place to start your day, especially before the crowds roll in.
3. House of Vibes – Silverthorne
House of Vibes is part coffee shop, part community hub. With funky decor, locally roasted beans, and a rotating art wall, it’s the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you belong. Try one of their specialty lattes or check out the live music lineup on the weekends.
4. Red Buffalo Café – Silverthorne
Another Silverthorne gem, Red Buffalo is a local staple with a strong sustainability mission. It’s right off the Blue River Trail, which makes it a perfect pre- or post-walk stop. I’m a fan of their nitro cold brew and ever-changing seasonal specials.
5. Dillon Coffee Lab – Dillon
Dillon Coffee Lab is a newer addition to the Summit County coffee scene, and it’s quickly made a name for itself. Known for its sleek aesthetic and expertly crafted drinks, it’s the perfect place to grab a cortado before heading to the marina or the farmers market. Bonus points for their curated pastry selection and cozy indoor seating.
